Community Service Projects

In addition to raising funds to donate to worthwhile causes, the members of the Riverside Junior Woman's Charity also organize many community service projects such as the ones listed below.

Charity of the Month

Every month, the RJWC chooses a "charity of the month" to collect for, and collects specific donations from club members and also members of the community.  Some examples of organizations that we have collected for in the past are "Share Your Soles," the Greater Chicago Food Depository, Deborah's Place, Direct Effect Charities and the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services.

Book Rack

An ongoing project is maintaining the Book Rack at the Riverside Metra station.  Donations of used books are accepted anytime and placed on a rack in the Riverside train station for readers to use, enjoy and return.  RJWC Metra Book Rack Flyer

Truck Touch Day

Each year, the RJWC sponsors a different youth activity.  In 2008 it will involve bringing in many different vehicles for a hands on demonstration for the kids!  More info to come.
