Breakfast with Santa
Saturday, December 10, 2011
Breakfast with Santa, a RJWC community service event, was a wonderful event with over 100 children attending. Special thanks go to Harlem Expresso for the delicious treats, Chicago Micro for donating the photo paper and ink, and all our fabulous volunteers, including Girl Scout Troops #4590 and #2774 and the boys from Cub Scout Packs #24 and #92.
Charity of the Month
Each month a local charity is selected for collection of items to support that deserving group. Recent recipients include: The Ray Vanco Children's Foundation, Bottomless Closet, and Riverside Food Pantry. Check the Calendar for the current Charity of the Month.
RJWC Scholarship-Outstanding Community Services Recognition Award
Each year, the Riverside Junior Woman's Charity will recognize a female graduating senior who is a Riverside resident, or a Cook County resident if recommended by an active, associate, or honorary member of the RJWC. Candidates need to have demonstrated an outstanding level of community service activity throughout her high school career. Hours of service to the school, through school organizations and school-sponsored activities, and/or hours of service given in the community through religious, fraternal, and civic organizations will all be considered in the determination of the recipient of the award.

Senior Outreach
Through three activities, the RJWC membership seeks to help, support and provide a little extra love to the seniors living in our area. Activities include:
- Leftover Love provides meals to seniors in need.
- A liaison relationship is being developed to assist the local Golden Agers.
- We share our time with residents of local nursing and retirement homes (i.e. game day, holiday caroling, etc).
For more information, contact the Senior Outreach Committee.
