Working with and for our community is an important part of the Riverside Juniors' mission. We are currently reaching out through our maintenance of a community garden: Patriot's Park, hosting our annual Breakfast with Santa, donating items each year with our Charities of the Season, and volunteering at deserving places like Ronald McDonald's House and others.
Charity of The Season:
Each year we focus on three non-profits for our "Charity of the Season".
RJWC members are introduced to the organization, their mission and then are encouraged to donate items that have been requested.
Our current Charity of the Season is
Pillars/Beds Plus Fall 2019 Collection
Pillars Community Health serves a variety of communities in the western suburbs of Chicago and in partnership with BEDS Plus, Pillars provides medical services for people experiencing homelessness.
BEDS Plus is a nonprofit organization that has been working to end homelessness for over 30 years. Its mission is to reduce and end homelessness throughout Southwest Suburban Cook County by stabilizing and fostering independence for some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.
This fall, we are helping in the fight against homelessness through our STOCK THE SHELTER initiative. The number of women needing services from BEDS Plus has increased 50% in 2019 and we are aiming to collect items that are most needed by these women in their daily lives, including underwear, sports bras, toiletries, pain relievers, paper products, wash cloths, dish cloths and bedding.
We will be collecting these items now through October 31, 2019. Please drop off the items at Stefani Estes’ house at 469 Repton Road. Thank you!
Past Charities of the Season have included:

Annual Breakfast with Santa
Every year the Riverside Town Hall Auditorium is filled with the sights and sounds of Christmas. Children play games/crafts, snack on breakfast goodies and get one on one time with the Big Man himself. It is a magical holiday tradition.
